My name is Kurt and I'm a native English speaker from South Africa, although I have lived in many countries around the world, including Seychelles, the UK, and Estonia. As an avid appreciator of arts and culture, I enjoy listening to music, reading, watching interesting films, and cooking exciting food. I have a passion for Japanese culture in particular and thus, have spent a considerable amount of time travelling across Japan over the past 10 years. I currently reside in Europe.
I have 6 years of informal English (ESL) teaching experience, volunteering as an assistant teacher to students and adults alike. I also have 10+ experience teaching music to students of varying ages, a pursuit that is technically similar in many ways to teaching a spoken language.
I have achieved near-perfect English language and literature grades at the IGCSE level, as well as a record-high perfect score for the IELTS exam (9 across all categories). I also have years of experience speaking English in business environments, as well as reading, analysing, and critiquing research papers at an academic level.
