Group сlass: Roblox for Kids

With
2023
Let your child dive into the world of coding and programming, and learn how to build their own 3D video games!

This course is designed for children (9–12 y.o.) who love video games and want to learn more about how they are created. Roblox is a metaverse platform where users can build their own games, and it will inspire children to be more imaginative and to learn. This course will help young students make their first steps in coding and programming, and it will make learning new things fun and engaging.

The course consists of 15 live sessions (each 60 minutes long). The class will be conducted in a small group, which will allow for individualized instruction and feedback. There is no obligatory homework, but students are welcome to spend extra time outside of the classroom working on tasks of this course. Very likely, students who enjoy Roblox will do that even if there are no traditional home assignments.

By the end of the course, students will complete 3 projects, and acquire basic knowledge in game development as well as motivation to learn more.

What are the objectives of this course?

This course will:

Give young students knowledge of programming and coding
Teach them the basics of game development
Improve their computer skills
Give them valuable experience of teamwork and task planning
Stimulate their creativity

For whom is this course?
This course is for 9-12-year-old children who:
Enjoy Roblox and are interested in learning more about it
Love video games and want to learn how to build them
Don't play video games much but are interested in programming and coding

This course may interest you, if you wish to help your child make their first steps in the field of IT. This course is also a nice chance for kids to learn that there are many exciting things in the world of games other than just playing them, as they will also learn about creating them. However, to enroll in this course, your child doesn't need to be familiar with Roblox or even play video games at all. Game development is accessible to anyone.

Message from the instructor: "My goal as a teacher is to show children that they can truly learn from video games. And this course will teach them that video games are about a lot more than spending a good time with friends. It will inspire creativity in them and help them make their first steps in game development."
